I how you properly check for a bad turbo seal? My car smokes a bit at idle and I`m trying to figure out if it is a vacume leak or a bad turbo seal. Under normal driving conditions, everything is fine and WOT it is running perfectly.

PCV valve working OK? Crank case needs a little vacume, and definatly no pressure for oil to drain from turbo. Maby a kinked oil return line?Or, Valve leak under vacume, but not under boost makes sense. Is oil in exaust before the turbo? Are plugs oily? That is what I would look for to make a guess between the motor or turbo.

Time to clean/inspect my intercooler so it is coming off this weekend. Its been a while. I will look for oil deposites and also check for a kinked oil return line. Is it possible that to have bad valve seals on new heads. I`ve heard of this before. Will this create the smoke at idle or all the time?

Vacume is greatest at idle, so it may draw in oil past valve. Under boost, or around 0 map, no oil.
