Ball Bearing turbo water line

Anyone make their own water lines for a ball bearing turbo? i think the kit thats offered is kinda expensive.

Yes, I used the heater lines and drain however not the little throttle body lines.

NAPA pretty much has everything you need for $30 or so.

5/8" and 3/4" T's, right angle heater hose and straight heater hose, and the NPT fittings into the turbo to hose barbs, one straight one right angle.

You could do compression tubing (copper or steel) to the throttle body easy enough as well, NPT into the turbo to compression line 1/4" or 3/8" and a rubber coupler to the existing throttle body stuff.

Like alky. injection it ain't rocket science but some people need a "kit".

thats exacly what i was thinking when i saw the price of a kit with a piece of rubber hose and a couple fitting. thanks for the quick reply.

I fabbed up some lines real easy for a local car. It was an Innovative unit. The Innovative's use a standard NPT fitting. I believe the Precision dual BB turbos have a metric water fitting (and oil as well) Which would make finding parts a little more difficult. HTH, Scott

Lots of options for the 14mm thread Garrett DBB water coolant lines.

I'm gonna use these and make my own lines next time.

14mm to -6 AN fittings.

And yes, the oil feed fitting threads on the Garrett DBB chra are very specific and do require a restrictor fitting. PTE supplies you with one that is set up to accept a -4 AN feed line.

I bought banjo style fittings that have a shorter outlet/inlet tube than the kit and ran hose to the TB connections. The fittings aren't cheap but I saved about 50-60%. The kit price is not unreasonable if you aren't prone to paying attention to detail. Risking your turbo for a few dollars, in perspective, may not be worth it.:smile:

ordered and recieved my water line kit, i know it's a bit price'y but i figure i'm spending $2k on a turbo why screw around for $50 or $60 bucks plus it's the one they offer they can't say i used the wrong stuff. just my 02 cents
