I was just reading a '97 issue of muscle car review and it talked about the rise and fall of Joel Rosen with his Motion products. N the article it stated that he worked on GNs for a little while. Has anyone heard of this? Does anyone know someone or have a GN tuned by Motion? Shall be interesting.....

Since any idiot with a '86-87 Turbo Regal, a $20 chip, $1500 in parts and a recipe you have been able to print off the internet for 15 years can run faster than a Baldwin Motion Pase III LS-7 Camaro tuned by the legend in his own mind, Joel Rosen, it would take a REAL IDIOT to think a Baldwin Motion GN had any value whatsoever.

Of course, this is purely my own opinion, having owned a Baldwin Motion Phase III LS-7 Camaro.

And yes, as the previous owner of a 69 Baldwin Motion Nova, I know from whence you speak.

(Far too many years ago to even think about)!!

From 1986 through the early 1990's, baldwin motion was tuning many of the gn's in the local area. Joel had his gn airbrushed with a "motion gn" logo on it. Certainly nothing special in terms of speed, but had his body kit, wing and hood on it. Up until a few years ago, he would drive it around the neighborhood(massapequa.ny) once in a while. In terms of condition of his car, I would rate it a 5 out of 10. His daughter would also drive their white motion monte ss around, again i would probably rate the condition of the car as a 5 out of 10. I have not seen either car in a few years. My understanding is that they have moved from massapequa. Bottom line, if these "motion" cars had some unique or collectible value to them, I think they would of certainly maintained them in better condition.

is this the same Rosen i read about in my old car mags from the 60s with the Vettes?

Here's a picture of the illusive Motion hood. This is a carbon fiber hood and is 1 of only 7 made. The guy that owns this hood has had it since the late 80s, very early 90s.

Very interesting. Joel called me today to see if I would be interested in tuning one of their cars. We may be doing some future projects together.

barf! no thanks! I'll keep my hood thank you very much!

That hood's actually pretty sweet in person. I tried to buy one back in the day but like I said, they only made 7 of them.

Watch your wallet :)

Tell him "the price is $1800".

LOL! He seemed a little taken aback by the $100/hour, $500 minimum I quoted him for tuning

skips auto is doing the tuning now, keech is building the motors..that guy is all over the place,i agree that the hood looks terrible..no matter what anyone says about motion cars,at least he did something that will still be around after he is gone, not many of us can say that...are you doing the tuning on all the cars or just the twin turbo ones?
