A couple of weeks ago, I developed an issue with my second gear. Problem turned out to be the band anchor. It broke on an Alto Red wide band. Result was a very long, sliding in type shift from 1st to second, then lots of slip in second gear. I hope to get a picture posted as soon as I can, problem is car and parts are not close to home.
Is there anyway to avoid this or did I just get a bad part. I recall there may have been an issue with the Alto frictions a while back, I heard linings were coming apart and there may have been some weak band anchors. My trans was rebuilt a few summers ago and worked like a champ until recent, the issue developed without any sing of trouble. It was built with the Alto frictions, CK Servo, Kolene's, 10 vane pump
What's the most current build recommendation to make this thing survive with regards to frictions, steeles, clutch packs etc......? I have a great local builder who knows his stuff and he is also very willing to look at recommendations, tips tricks etc... For starters I am going to use CK's calibration kit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I only wish I lived closer to some of the Gurus here. I won't mention who they are in case I miss anyone important.
