"Barely Street Legal"

I was taking my parents Buick in to the dealership to get the heater core replaced and came up behind a '00-ish Prelude with stickers on the back that said "Barely Street Legal" and some ricer parts manufacturer stickers (dc sports, etc). Way too much traffic to do anything for any distance, but couldn't even get a rev out of them. Thing sounded like crap, too - I actually like some ricer exhausts but this was just annoying, it sounded like the fiberglass in his 6" tip was on its last legs. I managed to find a 200-yard or so open spot and rocketed away, but I think they were just too wimpy. barely street legal my ass. Maybe barely street legal because their exhaust was too loud.

That's pathetic. It's kinda like kids doing an 'all-motor' build-up Honda, which basically consists of a stock Civic with a cat-back exhaust and an intake tube (or other shiny minor bolt-ons).

I've seen guys at the street races that have those stickers. It's pretty pathetic. All that sticker means is they won't pass SMOG with their "built" intake systems and gutted cats. The only imports I like aren't really RICE. I have seen a few bad-ass Subaru WRX's. The thing that sucks is when you get an idiot in a beat Civic with an SI sticker and fart can that wants to run the LS1 and acts like he is the baddest thing on the streets.

i follwed a yellow civic hatchback SI, you know, the fastest production car ever , yesterday around a corner and hes going like 2 MPH, giving me stares, wearing some weird ass hat, backwards of course, and giving me little "farts" along the way from his can. im like WTF is this??? it was hilarious.
