I was wondering if the Bat Brake comes with a PR, or a shift kit? What kind of VB is used and is it calibrated for a GN? If I plug the lines where the solenoid goes, will it work like a regular VB if need be? Thanks,

Paul

Well, this is a post for Bruce A. Toelle...but I run one of these pieces and can partially answer your questions. I don't know what a PR is, please define.

A shift kit is included. Not as a separate package for you to install, but you send Bruce your valvebody for modifications. If that valve body is the TR-specific BR valve body, then I believe it is a matter-of-fact part of the rebuild. Not however that a BAT brake is not a bolt on piece. As stated above, Bruce modifies the valve body you send him. There are also other modificatoins that are done to the insides of the transmission...effectively requiring the whole tranny be shipped to Bruce or your local transmission guy can do the mods.

There is no need to "plug the lines" for regular use. The transbrake only operates with the shifter in first gear and the trans brake button pushed. Other than that, it operates like any other forward pattern automatic valve body.

HTH,

Hello Scott, I still need to get those Thrasher numbers to you. My friend has a bat brake for sale and was just wondering if I pick it up, will I need any other parts. He said there is something like a bearing that needs to be installed,so I guess that's what you are refering to when it needs to go to a tranny guy. When I refered to using it like a regular VB, I meant leave the solenoid out with the lines plugged. Just doing some brainstorming here.

Thanks for your help,

Paul

Care to comment Bruce?? I guess the main question would be is it calibrated to be just like a GN VB,is your PR system in there, and can I run it with the solenoid out and plugged?

Thanks, Paul

I have one question... HUH?

LOL

You get the calibration you send me. If you send a brf, a brf you will get. If you send an AA and AA you will get. I ALWAYS build and return the EXACT vb you send me. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Is the PR system there? No, but it very easily can be:)

Now this is the one I dont get. Plugged? Plugged what? Explain, and if you are asking what i think you are, Why would you ever want to?

We make some trick parts specific to the transbrake for the guys that buy the roller package with the brake. Nothing real major but some trick parts.

Another member and I are thinking of making a new aluminum direct clutch piston for the brake application. I submitted the plans today and will have an answer here shortly. Why not just call and ask so I can make sure you understand what you are actually building and so it will work with perfection. Not to mention, I HATE TO TYPE! heheheh
