my batt cable shorted out and burnt in half on my header now i have a very bad mis, and i put a new cable on and still there.

what can happen when you short the batt cable that go's to the starter, do you think i burnt my ecm up.

The first area I would check would be the fuseable links. They may have been damaged even though not completely fried.

what ones should i check , the ones at the starter, i have 12v at the 4 lines that hook to the starter. And i have 14v at the alt and batt but iam not sure what else to check. All fuse in the box look good to.

thanks

These "fuses" are powered from the pos cable post on the starter solenoid. It will be 12v. at the post, but check it on the other side of the link, 12" or so beyond the solenoid. Even though the fuses show good, there may not be enough power there.

Would be good to try another ECM.

i tested all the wires where they go in the wire harness , they all have 12v so i guess i better check on another ecm maybe.

thanks for the help:)

possible module problem

i have seen this problem damage the circiutry in the ignition module.check to see if all the coils are firing.

I had the fuseable link that goes to the ECM short out and take the ECM out ,, Put a Good pos cable on And That fixed It along with a good ECM,, Give The ECM a Try $75 bucks worth a try and if that ant it youll have a spare ECM;)

Good Luck,,
