Before and After? RJC Boost Controller

It has been recommended by many members that I pick up a RJC Manual Boost controller. I have read through previous posts about it and seems like a good deal and its very affordable. I can see and understand the logic and science behind the controller as well. However I would like to know anyone that has used one please post the problem or issue you were having and what difference the boost controller made. I am still wanting my TTA to build boost quicker and before I buy the RJC piece I would like to hear more from people that have it.

I've been running one for about 3 years now. When I first started considering the RJC boost controller, I was looking for a way to more accurately adjust the boost than by just using an adjustable wastegate. The RJC boost controller holds the boost until the desired amount of boost is reached, without leaking any pressure from the system. I also noticed that the turbo spools quicker, but I'm not gonna complain about that.

I've seen them stopp boost creep as well. It's simple, increases spoolup and works.

Some good advice would be to start out with the controller set for lower boost and work your way up to your desired boost level, especially if you are not running Alky. Do this so that it does not hit 20+ psi right off the bat and give you some problems that you were not looking for (head gasket problems etc). If you are running an external wastegate then set this wastegate so that you are at the lowest boost setting for that wastegate (whatever your wastegate's spring is rated at). If you are using the stock TR wastegate set up, then put it back to its base boost setting. Once this is done then start low and work your way up to your desired boost setting with your new controller..........Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up Audie1. I will post my results once I get on and setup. The TTA has the stock style internal waste gate with a threaded adj. rod. I am eager to see what kind of difference it gives me however I am too aware that all good things in life come with patience.

adding to what they said- it also comes with a nice pen that doubles as a flash light or a flash light that doubles as a pen??????

I got the RJC MBC installed today and took the car out before it got dark. It definitely does what they say it will. I installed it per the directions, needing to pull the WG rod 1/8 to get it hooked on and did not change the MC settings any yet. The turbo starts spooling up at around 3400rpm now and is at my max setting of 11psi by 3800 - 4000rpm. I would still like for the turbo to spool a little faster so I will try adjusting the MBC a little tomorrow. For $55 and a install time of 20mins I am very happy. Thanks everyone for your input on this. Next up, bigger injectors.

Nother question. I sorta know the answer already, but I want some more additional input from the experts.
Am I guessing that the rjc unit is not really needed, with a stock ported turbo, that breathes really good? (meaning, 3" maf pipe w/ filter at the end, 3" dp, dutt neck ic w/ dump on exhaust)

Will I not notice any real difference?

It depends, I know that when I put my boost controller on my GN it will make the car get sideways alot easier than it did before, with street tires, if I had some sticky tires on there it would be sweet!
