Best Engine Oil

I can't find the recent thread on this topic. Having my engine rebuilt. What's the best oil to use? Do any oils still have zinc in them?

valvoline vr1 racing oil is imo the best out there as far as $ go. no need to add any zinc additive, has plenty. napa can order 10w30 for 4.59 qrt

Everyone has one they like, personally when I built my motor I ran valoline in it till break in was over , 2 changes then went to Royal Purple every since. Pricey but its cheap compared to what I spent building the motor !!!!!

+2 on the running Royal Purple. i've ran it for a few years now. first in my ls1 and the in my buick. i run castrol as the break in stuff though.
