I've been having issues with my seat tracks the seats won't move anymore I've switched out the transmission and motor along with a good coupler and still nothing so I'm beginning to think it can be the 2+ year old tracks has anyone ever taken them apart to clean what is the best method and what did u use ?

I took the seats off of my seat tracks, but left the electric motors on......I then used PB Blaster to loosen and clean the tracks.....mine were a little stiff, but after using the PB they came loose.......when I was able to get the tracks moving, I used brake cleaner to really clean the tracks, channels, but being careful not to get it on the motors and related parts....I wrapped them in plastic.

Then, after the whole thing was dry, I used white grease to slick up the tracks.....they work like brand new.
Just the way I did it.........I'm sure others here may have a different approach, so just keep checking here before you do it and you may find a better alternative method.

Yes.

dump some simple green, super clean or apple cider vinegar in the bottom and let it rip :)

I may be guessing here but I think he meant remove the motors and stick the tracks in the dishwasher.

I can't tell if you're kidding or not, Earl, as you've always had a sense of humor........isn't water DEATH to electric motors? Especially LOTS of hot water? Capishe"

I thought the sense of humor part was the part where the SO flips out over car parts in the dishwasher !

....sorta like when I said to put K&N filters in the washing machine :D

So Bruce you only sprayed the inside of tracks ? Is that basically where it's all at ? I would hate to mess something up u said u wrapped it in plastic were you referring to the motors on the tracks only ?
