Best place to buy a new ECM ?????

Where do you suggest I purchase another ECM?

I called my local Autozone and they have the ECM for $75.99 lists for a 1987 buick regal with the V6 turbo. I assume this is the same as the Grand National.

Should I get it there or is there a place that sells one that is better?

They all use the same computer a "148". The ones auto parts stores sell are remanufactured ones and they will work just fine. Do you know anyone who has a turbo car that you can just swap out a computer before you lay out the $ for a new (remanufactured) one?

Your not the only one in your area with one check the magnabuick web site also why do you think you need an ecm? This sunday their will be alot of us at atco for a get together also ford buick race see magnabuick for details.I baught my ecm from kirbecks was like 115 dollars i think if you get one dont forget to remove both chips dont ask me how i know. Also if your looking for a mechanic in your area that is good with these cars look up Mike form Mikes transmission and auto repair. Just read the other post did you try what pacecar ta suggested pauly is a wiz with TRs try what he posted and poss. open the other thread again

Yep... that's it. Get one at the boneyard and swap your chip and memcal. $25 last time I got one. Here's the list of donors... courtesy of gnttype.org. easy to find... for now...

I guess they do go bad once in awhile(leaking water on them,shorting out, old age....etc. I bought an ecm chasing down a problem a few years back, turned out it wasn't my ecm that was bad, oh well now I have a spare!

Leaking water I take it is due to a windshield seal leak? Oh and isn't that also what that little top is that fits over the wires and box when the box is placed in the kick panel holder?

I'll be looking for you, I'm easy to spot, I'll have my 7,9&11 yr old boys with me..... and I drive a black car Just look for all the cars with MAGNA stickers on the 1/4 windows. I have a big sticker on the rear window..
