This is simply an opinion. The RA wires are the biggest piece of crap that i have ever purchased for my car.I bought a new set and they were only three months old when i had to pull them off to replace headgaskets. Two of the wires fell apart in my hand(while i was trying to be very careful)---so i had no choice but to buy a new set.I put the whole new set on---but had to pull them on and off a few times because of some issues.Well---3 more of the new ones fell apart. So out of 12 i have ---5 fell apart in my hand after being very, very careful trying to remove. It got so bad that it was the big joke of the head gasket swap.I have a new set of magnacores 8.5's on the way.I have used them several times before---sure you will pay a bit more for them---but you get what you pay for!Just my experience----yours may vary:rolleyes:

Been real happy with the Magnecors. I have the 10mm version and one of my brothers has the 8.5's, both seem to be top notch. No complaints yet.

One type I know not to get is the Autolite 8.5mm's that they offer at Advanced Autoparts. They could not take the heat on the passenger side and literaly fell apart on the inside.

1st choice Magecore's
2nd choice MSD's (not the blue ones)

1. Reds
2. Jacobs

Magnacore has a lousy warranty reputation
Jacobs warranty can't be beat.

I use the ATR 8mm and they work great.... I would rather have the magnacore 10mm though.

Myself and two other guys have the Magnecores with no problems at all. Mine are two years old, and have been on & off the car more times than I care to think (20+ times probably).

They're more pricey than I think.

I have used Red's wires on several cars for years with no problem. I like the way they fit ,look and the nice snap when you put the plug boot on. Getting in a hurry and lack of boot lube causes most problems with plug boots coming off.
Always twist it before you pull it and do not forget the lube. LOL

I have the Magnecore 10mm and to say the least I am very happy with them. Before I bought these the two previous sets of a diffrent brand had melted under the extreme heat of my hotair. So any wire that can withstand the heat of my car is a damn good wire. I believe I bought them from Bowling Green Customs for $37 bucks w/shipping.

10mm Magnecores here. Nothing but good things to say about them. Ive had them on and off I dont know how many times, and they still hold the plug real tight. Get the 10mm Magnecores (or the smaller 8.5mm Magnecores) Just my .02

I have Red's wires and have for about 2 years. I use dielectric grease on all ends. I have found them to be a very good wire at a good price. I would recommend them.

Two of my friends have RA wires too with good results.

I've personally had problems with two sets of Magnecores coming apart..

I now run (with good luck) the factory replacement AC Delco 8mm's. No problems to speak of yet..

HTH..

Saw the end come off a Red's wire this past weekend at Englishtown.

Not sure how much lube was on it, didn't ask. ;)

I used a set of Kenne-Bell red 8.5 wires for 10-11 years or so.

Broke one end and switched to the Magnecores 10mm.

Three years and two years for those on my cars. Keep them lubed and twist first and they work fine.
