As of right now my car has an aluminum radiator. It's smaller than the stock one, not sure of the specs. The car runs warmer than I want it to (will heat up to 190-200 idling in traffic with the A/C off). I would like it to run no hotter than mid 170's when it's hot out, idling in traffic with the A/C on.
I'm going to ditch this radiator and buy another. My main to reasons are so I can use the Ramchargers dual fan setup and use the stock shroud (it's mounted with some dry wall clips right now, I don't like that).
What kind of radiator should I look for? I'd like one without a submerged cooler as I already have external coolers (transmission and oil). Should I go with a 3 core or a 2 core? Which manufactures do you recommend?
Also, should I bother with the water pump at all? I've heard of people using a smaller pulley but that seems like it would shorten the life of the pump (spinning faster, more wear on bearings), correct?
