OK, I'm walking into this almost blind......... modifying a computer controled car. Hopefully in the next few months I will be taking the boxes and boxes of parts I have to a friend's shop in hopes of assembling a running, driving car.

I also know that will all the modifications I will be making at one time, its gonna take some sort of scan tool to get it running right.

I've seen the scanmaster, direct scan, turbolink.........what should I get?

I already have a thinkpad I use as a backup if my home computer is down should I get a turbolink.

Any advice appreciated.......thanks, kevin

It is mostly personal prefference, I like DS but others preffer T-link and still others swear by ScanMaster. Part of it is the cost, with T-link and DS it is highly advised to get a knock gauge also so you won't need to have the laptop powered up all the time as it gets to be a pain. They all have advantages and disadvantages so it is up to you.
