Haven't been in a couple of years but Monument Inn has always been consistently good, not great, but yes good. If you like cajun style seafood, Floyd's (45 South just past Nasa Rd 1) is one of the best in the area... I really like thier seafood jambalaya and crab bisque.

Tommy's Seafood & Steakhouse and Perry's Steakhouse & Grille are both really good, but $$$! Haven't been yet but several friends have recommended Reef up in Houston's Midtown area, it's upscale but not quite as expensive as the two above.

Just took the wife to Monument Inn last week...was really good.

My favorite is probably Floyd's if you stay north of G-town. In Galveston there are several that I like....the obvious is Gaidos...Bennos is good...Fisherman's Wharf is good for a Landrys restaurant....whew, now I want some grilled shrimp!
