I have installed the dual nozzle SMC alky. set up. I have a Jim Testa 19* chip I am running now. I was wondering what would be a good timing change to start with? I was thinking around 24-25* to start with. I assume that the fuel tables would need to be updated for the higher boost and timing levels.?

I know this will depend on the set up. I have the following:

.030 over hyps. file fit rings
TE-44
009's w/ Jim Testa's 19* chip
Power Plate
Ported irons w/ big valves
T&D 1.55's
Comp 212/212
Stock big neck I/C
3" DP w/ Deltagate
340 hot wired
Dual nozzle SMC w/ #10 Jets
Mod D5 converter 3000 stall

TIA

I would start at 22-23* and work my way up. I know its hard without an adjustable chip, but at 25* you have a lot less room for error

I am going to call Jim and talk with him about my set up. I was thinking about 23* of timing. I wanted to see what timing some of the guys are running close to my set up.

Thanks,
CT

I am using a 23/21 Extender now in my GN which is similar to yours but I have a V4 intercooler, stock heads, and stock cam.

My T-Type can handle a little more (25/23) due to the better intercooler, P&P heads, bigger cam, and larger turbo (blows cooler).

Both run 91 octane, 24 psi boost, 100% denatured, and have the SMC kit turned all the way up.

I would say both cars are tuned to the edge of what they can handle fairly safely using alchy and 91 octane.

I am using 100% denatured. I also run 93 octane gas. It may take me a few times with the chip but I will get it tuned in. I just want to get close the first time around.

I bet you will be able to run more timing on a 70/30 or 60/40 mix then with str8 alcohol
