best traction tires in 17"???

you guys with the 315's, did you have not notch your frame rail? What size rim are you using?

17x9.5" wheel 4 7/8 backspacing. I trimmed the upper part of the wheel well trim a little but nothing done to the frame rails. It fits under the car real nice but is VERY close like about 1/2 from the frame. So far so good.

Hmm...

I have 17 x 8 with 4 1/2 BS.

I have some 245/45/17 tires on temporarily right now (long story).

I thought that when I had the 275/40/17 tires on it "shined" my frame rails a bit from rubbing.
