I just installed the HKS SSQV and it works but I have it adjusted to the most sensitive setting and it seems like it should open sooner and stay open longer. I used the vacuum line to the fuel vapor canister. I am thinking of using a different source.
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Use a line from the intake and keep it as short as you can. Make sure it is closed under normal driving conditions and only opens when you lift off the throttle under boost.

My Buick Mechanic drilled his in the TB right behind the throttle blade. It worked better than t-ing of a diff vacc source.

*DID A SEARCH ON THIS SUBJECT, COULDN'T REALLY FIND A DEFINITE ANSWER* I te'ed mine with the MAP bar sensor line.

Could anyone settle this once and for all where the vacuum line should be connected. MY BEST ANSWER is after the Throttle blade in the TB.???

My BOV was lagging also when I first installed. Tried adjusting everything.
Found out the flow of air in vacume lines was poor. I found one with good flow, and BOV action is now instant. Just pull off a line, stick it in your mouth, and see how long it takes to empty the air in your mouth. Some of my lines take up to 3 seconds, some pull air out instantly. Maybe the 3" throttle body and/or aluminum vac. distribution block has blocked some of the flow??
I was now thinking my FPG is a little slow to react. Get a little knock when I stomp on it quickly, but never when I build boost slowly at the track staging.

All vacume lines are routed behind the blade in throttle body. Otherwise you would never see any vacume.

Yes, all the vacuum lines START behind the throttle valve. But they are not all the same length, and not all the same diameter. I like the test that turbo2nr describes. For a vacuum device that has some volume, like the diaphragm on the BOV, a restrictive line will slow the response. So picking one of the larger lines right at the top of the throttle body, and teeing into it with a similar sized hose would seem to be a good thing. Then you could give it the "mouth test", just to be sure!

How about using one of the billet vacuum blocks with the extra brake booster vacuum line and use it for the BOV?

thats what im thinking too. I saw someone with the same setup and hooked a BOV to the vacuum block with 1 extra nossle to the right.
