Im looking at installing some new valve covers and wanted to see what you guys are using for valve cover gaskets? The name of the brand, p/n, and other other tricks to keeping them from leaking. thanks!

Cork gaskets and a thin coat or Permatex (Indian Head) gasket shellac (spelling). Used this combo for years NEVER leaked. Let the shellac tack up good and it will hold the gaskets in place. Tighten VERY lightly.

I have good luck with Rol gaskets had them on and off maybe 15 times already no leaks at all.

Fel Pro perma-dry are great and worked well for me. i also like cork gaskets with a thin layer of right stuff

cometic valve cover gaskets here. very nice.

whats the part# on the cometic's

Cometic C5697-188. They have them listed on their website. The oil pan and front cover gaskets are also very nice. You can actually apply some torque to the fasteners and not worry about damaging the gaskets with these.
