I have a set of Cometic gaskets that I’ve coated with Permatex copper spray. I need to clean it off, but I’ve been told to be careful about using too harsh of a solvent on them (like carb cleaner) because it will mess with the Teflon coating or whatever it is on the gaskets.

Perhaps soaking them in a tub of mineral sprits would do the trick? What do you guys suggest?

Thanks,

Pretty much what I did. Well, I used gas...
Then I hosed them off with carb cleaner and air.

I cleaned a set with brake cleaner. I don't think any solvent will hurt the viton layers.
