I dont really enjoy taking showers in tranny fluid. I had a drain plug in the GN, but the TTA is too low for one.

Can I pull the cooler lines, have one the output line go to an empty bucket, and the input line in a bucket of fresh fluid? Would there be any suction on the line going back to the transmission? I assume not, so then would I be ok to just dump in the new fluid by the quart while the tranny is pumping out the old fluid? (Car running)

Is there a real danger of running it dry, and doing damage this way? Would I be better off taking the pan down several times?

Thanks,
Bob

I think your risking possible trannie damage to do something I assume your doing to add life to it. Get a drain plug kit $10, drop pan, install plug, diconnect cooler lines, put hose on one line into a bucket and compressed air in the other, this will flush cooler. The only oil not flushed by this procedure and draining pan is in the T/C, then if you want to refill and drain again you should pretty much give you a complete flush. Hope this helps. :)
