What is the best way to raise the shift points???? My car has a tendency of shifting at very low R. P. M.'s, the shifts are very firm but they are just very low in R. P. M. spectrum about 3700. The motor was designed and built to handle close to 6000, I am presently manually shifting but this really sucks.

I have played around with the cable adjustment, but this dose not seen to make a big difference in raising the point, but only lowering them. Should I be looking at the governor or something else?

Thanks

if the max line pressures are good suspect a valve body or governor mismatch or defect.yeah there are other ways to do this BUT the wise decision is to install a valve body and governor from an 85 86 87 88 monte carlo ss HO .itll give you what you want without excessive base tv adjustment causing late part throttle upshifts and excessive passing gear.LISTEN ,the mcss valve body works great in the gn as well.it brings back low speed 3/1 and 2/1 kickdowns eliminated above approximately 20 mph with the br coded valve body.in car tested mcss valve body and governor with CK shift recalibration kit and accumulator piston and springs and boost valves and pr spring is 499.00.
