Best way to ship a tranny?

Going across country, just curious as to what way some of you have shipped them before and how you packed it up properly.

I thought it would be to light to go on a skid and be shipped by transport and too heavy for a courier.

I just went through this with Lonnie Diers. It was shipped banded up on a skid with shrink wrap. We shipped from Ohio to Ca. (155 lbs.) for $85.00 using Forward Air. Do a Goggle search for their web site. Only problem is you have to take it and pick it up at their terminal. You will also need a M.O.

Just had one shipped to me via Fed Ex, just met the weight limit. Came in a really slick custom poly tranny shipping case. Had to be delivered to a business address, but that was no big deal.
