I'm clueless. Anyone know of someone that can ship a trans out of Chicago?

TIA...

I shipped out my trans in a wood lined cardboard box via UPS ground. It arrived at the trans shop with out the box. Wrapped only in plastic. Luckily it was not damaged. THey sent it back in the same type of package and it arrived via UPS ground in perfect condition. GO figure. I think it cost around 130 to send from central Missouri to central Texas.

Len Freemen from Performance trans in las vegas sends me a plastic case. It is designed for shipping trannys. It kinda looks like a musical instrument case. There is no problem with this case and nothing ever gets dammaged. before this i used to strap the tranny to a small pallet and bolt it all up to it. It was horrable. 50% of the time the trans would get damaged. Using len's tranny case never had a problem.

hope this helps.

Work at GM dealer.. We get transmissions shipped in plastic cases from GM.. Sometimes we get them on pallets though.. Just use metal straps and strap it down.. :)
