Look at my 2nd post.....you put 12V+ to the blade that is usually ground on the 3-prong, illuminated switch.

TRIED THAT, DIDN'T WORK.

OK, I'm sticking with my last post. It WILL work now that I know how the switch is pronged. I could show it schematically, but.... basically as someone else mentioned, when you put the switch in the circuit with the light in there, the light becomes one more load (very small) on the WHOLE circuit. Therefore, the "GROUND" isn't at ground potential until AFTER the switch. So the wire going from the TCC and the fan, etc. is acutally not at ground potential completely, but WILL have the necessary current through it to easily operate the solenoids. I say once again, just wire it as NORMAL and it should work. Also, as long as the lights are NOT LED's, the other suggestion of switching which termial is which will work too. But LED's ARE sensitive to the direction of current flow. They are Diode's which will only allow current flow in one direction (kind of like a check valve in fluid systems).

BTW, My switch/LED's for the line lock and transbrake are both wired up exactly as I mentioned above and they work great. Just my LED's aren't inside the switch....

It should work fine if there is an incandescent bulb inside the switch for lighting.

If it's an LED it won't work as it will be reversed biased.

I have no idea what they put inside those rocker switches these days. :D

Get a DPDT switch and add your own cool lighting scheme. ;)

If I follow the directions on gn/t-type for the fan will it still function normally with the switch in the OFF pos. and allow me to run it on high as long as the switch is ON? And, if this is correct, is there a way to hook it up without cutting any wires?

I just checked with a spare GC Electronics 35-664 lighted 12 volt rocker switch. Dimensions .453" x 1.110"

Available at most cheesy electronics parts stores, prolly online too. They make 3-4 colors I think.

That series of lighted rockers has a real lamp in there and it worked fine. I used an 89 bulb as my test relay solenoid. :)

The lamp lights fine with the ground switched and the +12 on the bulb lead that is alone on the end of the switch.

Don't forget to fuse everything and use an IGN source for the +12 to the lamp.

GN1220 Caspers Electronics makes a plug and play switch and wiring harness for the HI-LO fan switch operation.

I bought one for the GN since I didn't want to hack any wiring up in it. Haven't installed it yet tho. Comes with a mini-toggle switch for the functions and a very neatly made wiring harness with plug in connectors. :)

Does NOT have a lighted switch. :D

The switch I used I think is an LED switch. Has a long toggle with a little round lite at the end. It definitely wouldn't work. Maybe that's the reason, because it's not one of those cheesy rocker switches. I'll pick up one of those tomorrow and see if it works.

I have Kirban's switch plate for the ash tray. Came with decent rockers - not as cheesy as the auto parts store variety.

Thanks again salvage, I just thought it would be a little faster to ask you. I've been waxing the GN and then took it for a drive to Starbuck's to get the wife a Frappie. Haven't been able to spend a lot of time on here today.:)
