what roller cams are out there that are split duration like the SP 204-214 cam? didnt lee thompson try out a bunch and now runs a split dur. roller like the 204-214 SP, but bigger? btw, this cam will go in a champion iron headed motor most likely with a big turbo/FMIC lookin for 11s on pump gas.

Comp cam 218/224 billet roller for me. GN1 headed motor....not built yet but sssssooonnnnn. It'l be interesting to see how it is on the street.

Anyone else want to chime in on big cams (split or not) and street manners

my 214 comp works rather well although I don't consider it "big"...they aren't as quiet as stock (I have 1.65 roller rockers as well)

ATR sells the 214/210 Billet Hyd. roller cam...... Pretty sure Jack Cotton has used it in some of his build-ups for several customers and likes it....
HTH:)

I have the 212/206 in mine and at 5700/5800 where it shifts, it's still pullin like mad! I'm puttin another together and goin with the 218/218 but that's as big as I want to go as I love drivin the car. Cams are really non issues as small ones can make BIG power. All depends how high you want to spin it then durability comes into play.

What'd you do to get the shift points up there (5800) or are you shifting manually? I'm sure my 215°/210° roller wants to shift higher and have gotten several opinions on how to do it. I'm asking you because it seems you've already done it!

Thanks!

i too manually shift my 214-210 roller at close to 6k. these cams make big power up in the rpms compared to the stock cam.

Lee,Dwayne, and I all run the 218/224 camshaft. Wouldn't suggest using 1.65 rollers due to coil bind. 1.55's would work better.... specs are .511 lift on intake .519 on exh 110 LC. Dwayne has been a 10.68 with the car popping all the way down the track due to weak springs. Leeo has been a 10.70 something so far....May have gone faster this week in BG. Pretty big camshaft for an iron headed prod block. Lee and I both run stage 2 blocks with iron heads, Dwayne's still using the prod block...HTH

I don't usually manual shift. The stock GN trans I found usually shifts that high. If not you can mess with the govenor to get the shift speed right. Most stock GNs shift too high for the car and you need to lower the shift to keep it in the power band.
