I heard down the vine that Mike had pulled cash out of his own pocket to buy 1/2 a drum of VHT for the track.
Thanks Mike that was a great gesture, especially since you werent racing a car amd had no gain by doing so

Thanks guys. I know some of you don't remember but I used to have a race car back in the day. ( You will see me back soon enough  ) The track needed some glue so some guys could put down a number. I considered it "event sponsorship" and I am sure glad I did it. Hopefully it helped someone out. See everyone next year at Indy I hope. I will be there with the "outlaw 109" car

Out of curiousity how much did the 1/2 drum cost? How come the track would not supply enough to get the track prepped properly?

VHT is $750 a drum. A set amount is included with your track rental. If you want more you pay for more. They were doing minimal prep (my opinion) lots of cars were spinning (east to see) this way There was pleanty of glue to spray the whole thing and John C would not have to dip into his pocket anymore, he lost money as it was.

Nice Mike. Thanks for the explanation. I was also wondering why they would not prep more if traction was an issue....now I know

Definatly! I noticed that they were only spraying like a 3' patch right where the cars launched at, but nothing after that. Seemed like a lot of cars had enough nuts to yank the front, but then would spin.

They sprayed most of the way down at one time just before Len went 7.43
