Whats the biggest I can run ??? Would lilke to do a GTQ66 with 85 housing!!!!!!!!!!1

Never gonna happen....

Big problem is stall speed is kinda subjective. What one guy calls a 3200 someone else says is a 2800 or 3400, you know what I mean ?

FWIW, I had a 3200 stall convertor with a PT52 turbo, and it worked awesome. I went with a GT67 (P trim turbine) turbo and it was a pig to spool. There is a huge difference in these turbo's.

Once I had the stall fixed (now it's too loose) around 3800 I was not overly impressed with the 67 from a power standpoint and have since had it converted to a TE45A.

I wouldn't go over a TE61/PT54 with a 3200 convertor, especially if you are driving it on the street much.

Just my 2 cents worth.

A double ball bearing Innovative GT70 p trim spools just fine with 3200 stall. :)

You could probably do just fine with a single ball bearing CPT66 perhaps with a large housing as well.

Call Jack and see if you can afford one. ;)

I had a 3200 Vig in my street car with a BB70Q. Worked fine. Went to a 3500 though as it works better launching at the track with no side effects around town.

I have a TE45 on a 3200 L/U. Runs fine around town and turbo spools instantly. Ive only had a few launches and the tires spun around 2600rpm, or around 5psi. Either way, it spools the turbo perfectly.

Ok

Buddy of mine had a Te-45 A an said he thought that it would be a good match.. Under boost stall is more like a 3500, so I think that may be my way to go.. Would like to try the BB stuff but thinking its too much dough!!!!!!!!

See what I mean ?

IMO, anyone that says a 3200 stall is working well for their TE45 or TE66 or bigger size of turbo isn't judging their stall speed correctly. If it was a BB unit that's a different story.

Just ask someone like Nick Micale or Len Freeman or guys with alot of experience with that turbo and chances are they will not be recommending 3200 for a 45A it will be around 35-3600.

As I said, my current stall is closer to 3800+ and IMO it's too loose. Spools the turbo really quick, but I feel it's a couple hundred rpm too high. We'll see in a couple of weeks when I get to the track again this year.

No flames intended, just MHO.

Yes

I always judged my stall to the point where the tires start to spin.. Mine was ordered as a 3200 . But under boost its higher as I would think with most convertors!!!

Your buddy's 45A should work okay. Best thing to do is give it a try if you can borrow his turbo. For me, the convertor that spooled a PTE52 really well was a pig with the GT67.

I agree

I run a 3600 stall and it spools great with the TE45A!

Chris,I run a 3200-3400 stall with my ta61,id want a 3500+ for anything bigger and not BB.

JMHO:)

My 45a spooled nice with a Vig 3200 and .63 housing. I stepped the convertor up to 3400-3600 because I'm installing a .85 housing.

There are general guidelines for "recommended" stall levels for each turbo. When it comes down to it, it is really up to what the person driving the car thinks.

I used to run a GT61P with a stock converter. Personally, I loved it. I would never recommend this to a customer though.

For the TE45a, 3500 is about the average stall, but I usually suggest 3800 stall to really get it moving!

Do you have a ton of work done or is this car a slightly modded GN?

What one guy can get for spool up is not what another might be able to do because of the amount of mods the first guy has done. Its real simple to spool a TE45a with ported heads, FMIC, 3"Exhaust, 70mm TB etc.

I can get my TA49 to chirp the tires at 40mph on a hammer down at only 17psi. But I have a ton of crap done to get it to do that so its deceiving.

If you are worried about spool up, do not get a .85 housing and the Q trim exhaust wheel.

Hello

Motor an tranny are coming out today!!! My current build up is Trans+ with 3.5 LS1 MAF//50 lb er's//single 340 HW'd//4K mi on new Century tranny with 911 3200//CAS FM with 3" piping//te-61//Big mouth intake//stk intake upper lower an stk heads with lt1 springs plus all other small stuff like adj reg. tie down ,dual fans etc..

Going back with rebuilt motor with Viper ported heads an intake/// either hi z 60's or 75's with extender extreme chip// 70 mm tb with matching precision dog house an PP//218/218 cam//RJC girdle//4" MAF pipe//Double Pumper//Racetronix upgraded inj. wiring harness//an some other small parts!!

Car is a 87 T that has been totally restored aka everything on car was taken off doors , hood , trunk all glass an taken down to metal , all rubber replaced windows doors trunk hood you name it!! No power options car column shift bench.. Weight is 3200. Iknow there are sharp T's out there but I wish I could send a pic of mine so someone could post it cause its one of the sharpest.. Would like to run mid to upper 10's!! Just need the turbo now!!

IMHO, wait until the motor is back in the car and broken in. Then try it out as is. You might be surprised how good it feels.

If you change too many things at once you could end up with issues and be chasing your tail trying to figure them out.

Run the car with the TE61 after the engine is done. The only thing you may want to consider is the injector upgrade as you'll be flowing alot more air.

Hello

Hi Clayton how do you like your 75's as far as driveability issues?? Do you use the lean cruise 16:1 a/r with them?? My friend has them in his car but doesn't drive enough on the street to really feel them out!! I'm seriously considering them..

I use the Delphi 75's. Idle quality is much improved over my Seimens 72's. Drivability is not much different. HTH, Brian

They're okay but the idle is a little too high for my liking...I am assuming it has to be that way with the larger injectors and bigger cams etc. My car idles about 900 + rpm in park/neutral and maybe 850+ in gear.

Other than that they drive nice on the street, you would never know they were that large of an injector.
