I am planning to redo my black out trim(sanding primer etc). I am wanting to know what is the best brand or type that you guys have come across for the correct blackout trim that was used from the factory?

Any auto paint store sells a spray can brand I am not sure o f the brand @ the moment but they are the most seen brand out there. anywho its called trim black an it matches perfectly.. I don't even think it requires primer!!

Thanks!!!

 I will check out the that paint for sure! I will probaly sand and primer just for insurance.

SEM trim paint

With the SEM trim paint just use a scotch brite pad to scuff the surfaces & blend in any nicks, wipe the surface down & your ready to paint. No primer or base needed with this product & it bonds very well.

Yeah your right, I read up. Thanks

Technically nothing is a correct match per say. You can use the SEM if you aint going for correctness. The factory stuff was called flourocarbon which is kind of a water based epoxy. I haven't found anybody selling the stuff in small hobbyist quantities. It's used entirely by the large industrial coaters. Look at the door and window frames of most of the office buildings and you'll see the same brownish tint. And I think the radiator support and inner metal fenders were coated in the same stuff. It would be nice to find somebody who could refinish small batches.

I've been working with some eastwood powder to see if I can match the finish. A mix of underhood black and chassis black is darn close but I'm not quite there yet.
