black smoke!

I have an 87 type T we4...it sat for about a week. I ran it today and took it for a quick drive. I let it idle when i first started it up for about 10 minutes till it was warm. About 5 min after driving i gave it a decent amount of gas and a large puff of black smoke came out of my exhaust, and i lost power...sounds like a fuel problem. Then when i gave it gas agian my turbo boost redlined very easily, and engined sputtered too..turned my waste gate down and it seems to be doing better. Has anyone had this problem or know what may be wrong??

Black smoke is usually indicative of a rich mixture. That also explains why the car bogged down. Do you have a scan tool to see what is happening with the car?

never race these unless you have a scanmaster and did a spring cleaning from Turbo Regal Web Site read up on here then go from there.
