Can someone explain to me why is it that after my engine has been running for a while the engine service soon light come on and gives me a code 44 and yet I'm still getting black smoke out of the exhaust. The car has a 20miles on the remanufactured engine but the fuel has been sitting in the gas tank for a few month's

Do you have a scan tool? What do your other numbers look like? O2, Block Learn? Is you O2 sensor fresh?

Your condition makes sense in that your ECM perceives a very lean condition for some reason so it's throwing a bunch of fuel at the situation, hence the black smoke.

Unfortunately no i Dont i just got ripped off not from this board in my scanmaster purchase so i dont have a scanmaster.
