Since the Thrasher 92 idles in OPEN LOOP, should I be concerned with what the BLM reading is in the normal "idle" cell?
Since its in OPEN LOOP at idle, it shouldn't be affecting the BLM numbers, but the cell that it would normally be in at idle is always setting at 150. When taking off from a dead stop, that cell is active only for a split second when it hits CLOSED LOOP. All of the other BLM cells look ok with readings from 120-133.

Only the O2 Cross counts are almost dead when in in OPEN LOOP idle, but is real active when in closed like it should be, should I care about that at all?
Thanks

I haven't seen, any commented code, for a Thrasher, but from what you discribe, it sounds, like things are normal.

In closed loop the ECM toggles the injectors pulse width to AVERAGE 14.7:1. It deliberately cycles richer and leaner, the the 14.7, and that's what causes the the cross counts, which is all normal.

That would be odd if the blm showed 150 at idle, since the Thrasher program locks cell 0 (and 15) to 128. Are you sure you're in cell 0 at idle?

Yes, its sitting in cell 0 at idle, but since its in OPEN loop, the ECM isn't, or shouldn't be trying to adjust fuel based on that BLM correct?
Like I mentioned earlier, the "BLM Update" is enabled for cell 0 only for a split second when mashing on the gas to take off from a dead stop, otherwise, the only time its in cell 0 is in OPEN loop at idle, because the Thrasher idles in open loop all the time.
The only reason ing I have right now as to why cell 0 is at 150 is that split second must be right when the throttle blades open just before the injector pulse widths change to accelerate and it would be lean forthat split second before the engine rpms rise causing it to go to the next BLM cell.

Normally if it were CLOSED loop at idle, I would think I had a vacuum leak somewhere causing a lean condition.

So really the question is, do I care what the BLM reading is on a Thrasher at idle since its in OPEN loop?

Anyone else have any input on this?

After looking into it further, it appears the Thrasher only alters the working copy of blm, not the stored blm. So, if you are reading your blm's with direct scan, you are seeing the stored blm, which is not being used (for the Thrasher) in cell 0 or 15. If you were to read your blm's with a scanmaster, which shows you the actual working blm, you should see 128 at idle. I hope that makes sense.
In other words, no need to worry about the 150 at idle if you're using direct scan to read it.
