I still cannot figure out what is causing this major rich condition...

when I let the car sit and idle, the blm number shows 160 and does not move...this is with the extender chip btw...integrator is always between 125-135

the car smells AWFUL...i mean REALLY rich at idle...it makes you want to pass out the fumes are so bad...

but when i cruise around the blm number drops down to 136...at WOT both numbers are 128 exactly

i have tried all kinds of different fuel pressures, tried messing around with my translator box...nothing works

brand new gnx delco o2 sensor...shows very lively cross counts and mvs at idle

right now i am running 45 psi line off of fuel pressure with 50 lb injectors (per extender chip instructions)

i have a brand new poston's driverside header with no gasket...also the turbo to pass header flange has no gasket...

i checked all my vacuum lines...all read 20-22 hg of vacuum at idle...

i cannot find a crack in the pass header whatsoever...my car has had this high blm problem for like 2 years...doesn't matter what chip i have...it even did it with stock injectors and stock turbo and everything...

my intercooler is stock...i don't think it's leaking...but not sure if that would cause my problem...

all hoses are tight and don't move...i am running the rjc powerplate with both gaskets on both sides of it...new delco pcv valve...new egr valve and gasket...crossover pipe connections look good...newer te-44 turbo...newer ls1 maf sensor setup...

i can't figure out what the hell is causing this...it did it with the stock ds header too...but that eventually cracked like hell...replaced it and thought for sure my high blm number would go down...nope

the funny thing is...i don't have spoolup issues at all...i can go from 0-25 psi in less than a second and it will hold there until i let off the gas...even from a dead stop it spools fast...

performance is not affected at all with this problem...it's just at IDLE...

my tps is set at .42 and iac counts in the low 20's

d0n_3d,

Check your translator box settings. Depending on which sensor you are running the MAF base could be off. As I recall the box is set up for a 3.5" sensor as you receive it from the vendor. If you have a 3" sensor and the MAF base is set up for a 3.5" sensor it will have an impact on your BLM #'s.

me and a few other guys in my GN club have the same issue.

we think it is related to the way the extender chip is made.

leaner exhaust = more exhaust heat= faster turbo spoolup.

of course this is only to a certain extent.

well i have had this problem even with the stock maf sensor and other chips for the stock injectors (not the extender)

i do have my translator box setup for the 3.5" sensor which is what i have...the 4 dip switches are set accordingly ON ON OFF OFF and the other two turn knobs switches for WOT and idle fueling are set to "0" no change...

You should pressure test your whole induction piping set up or try this. Plug the MAF onto the throttle body and leave everything else off and see if the car idles at a decent BLM setting. Don't drive like that since the turbo will have no load on the impeller to limit its speed. If this works, find your leak. If not then the problem is elsewhere. What about a badly cracked passenger side header. I still need to check mine using a "smoke" check.
