I've played with the fuel pressure numerous times and it seems that the only way to get 128 bl on the scanmaster is to run it @148-150lbs--vac line off. On closed loop it starts @ 128 but decreases steadily to down to 90. As it decreases the car runs noticeably worse. When I put it in gear it jumps back to 128 but then the decline begins. Switching from neutral to drive it jumps sometimes back to 128. What is going on here?

Set the fuel pressure at 43 PSI and look somewhere else for the cause of your low BLMs....Inspect the air ducting in front of the turbo....Are you sure your MAF is metering the air flow correctly? What kind of chip do you have in there? Do you have cross counts? Is your oxygen sensor working?

The engine electrical and fuel systems respond to sensor readings input to the computer, and the computer is commanding less fuel. Something is giving the ECM a signal to lean the fuel charge....Figure out what it is and fix it....Its probably not going to be fuel pressure. :)

????????

Changed the o2 sensor recently--used the ac/delco to the tune of $68. I don't remember the part # but it was for a gnx. Cross counts are 09-51-92-138-172-230 and back to 15.

So how does it affect the blm's?
Any higher? Any lower?
I have heard that the GNX sensor will make the non-GNX cars run a tad rich, but I have never confirmed this through personal experience, but I suspect it is true.

???????????

The sensor was replaced 2 months ago. So the blm issue is now. What will cause the blm's to steadily go down and then up again?

Its hard to communicate much over the key board....But let me make a couple of statements here. Engine operation, first in Open loop then closed loop, could make a big difference in the BLMs because the chip will lock the BLM in open loop (when its cold) and then let the 'feedback' system govern engine perameters in 'Closed loop' (when the engine is warm). Open loop is not useful in troubleshooting abnormal BLMs.

Do you have any scan tool values to post here? If not, you're just shooting in the dark. I don't know if that chip is appropriate for 55 pound injectors or not.... :)

?????????

What numbers do we need? I can give you any number and at any operating condition you want. :)

????

By the way, the car ran fine when I bought it. This problem just started graudually.

Hey Tommyg, how you doin? That damn car giving you problems again?

Most of the time high blm's are either vacuum or exhaust leaks.
Give me a call if you still have my number. Talk to you later.

All the numbers a scanmaster will give you would be a place to start....

Then, call Quad Air and make sure the chip is for the 55 pound injectors and compatable with the rest of your setup.....

Reset your computer before you record the numbers with a scan tool, and drive it around until its warm, then take the readings. We're looking for a place to start.

When you post some numbers, the real experts can jump in and help you ferret out the cause.

??????

O.K. guys, here are my readings at idle,a.c. off. 02 volts-082-812 tps-46 cc-11,36,63,87,111,159,164,195,244 maf-05 int-100-128 blm-90 but goes up to 128 when I rev it res-143 cle-175 idle-775-800 bat-13-13.3 I can't find anyone here that knows how this car works so I will try to learn how myself. Tommy

In my car I was having the same problem. I checked everything possible ten times over. Red even made me a chip to pull some fuel out at idle. It helped a little, but did not fix it. I then got a chip from Turbotweak, and it fixed everything. It was amazing. I spoke with Eric on the phone for probably 45 minutes asking questions before I bought his chip. He was very helpful. I had the same exact problem with my 42lb injectors, and my 57lb injectors. HTH

Here is a link to his website. http://turbotweak.com/

TPS is high tune it to .40 on the scanmaster. Target is .42 but the scanmaster seems to run a little off when compaired to Direct Scan.

Direct Scan .42 = Scanmaster .40 I trust DR Go .40

just a shot but......same problem here, checked maf screen and it had come loose, clipped it back in, no more problems
