Block heaters

I'm currently up in Minot, North Dakota and I regrettably brought my GN up here. I am parking it for the winter, but I am unsure about getting a block heater for it or not even though I'm not going to be driving it. Think the car will be safe without one?

If you have your antifreeze in good shape then I wouldn't bother with the block heater unless you intend to drive it. For storage....make sure the AF is good, put some Stabil in the tank and run for a little bit and make sure the gas tank is full. Should be fine.

my car was ordered/bought in NH so they ordered it with a factory block heater

If you're not driving the car, don't bother buying a block heater. Just have the proper mixture of water and antifreeze in there, and you're set. The different types of block heaters either warm the engine oil or the antifreeze/coolant to make starting the engine easier. A car in storage does not need either.

Guess I been wasting electricty on my dual block heaters for the past 3 years.

FWIW & IMHO:
I think that it would be cheap insurance.
