I finally got around to replacing my head gaskets. I was followig the Fel-Pro directions to torque the ARP head bolts for my GN1s(loc-wire gaskets). I worked my way up to 75ft/lbs. on all the bolts and then set the two longer ones at 85ft/lbs. I went back to check the #1 bolt at 75ft/lbs and it let loose and just kept spinning. Yes, I double check after this happend and the torque wrench was at 75ft/lbs. I pulled the head and metal threads from the block were caught in the bolt treads. I cleaned the bolt and threaded it back in the hole with no head on and it went in an then bound up. I tried the same bolt in a different hole and it went in fine. What are my options to repair this? It is a stock block.

Thanks.

that sux man! Try to re-thread the hole. If that don't work, your gonna have to pull the engine send it out to the machine shop.......... or, I'm not sure, how far does the bolt go in? can you get a stud in there???

I did a better search and would use helicoil #5521-7 and a 29/64 drill bit for the repair?

Stock block, ARP bolts.
