I have a block without the pins . where can I get them ? and how are they installed , just "tap" them in ? thanks .

You can buy them at your local parts store...but those are usually the hardened ones that need a special tool to remove.

The best, in my opinion, and cheapest, are the ones you make yourself out of 1/4" round stock. Grind a slight chamfer on each end and tap 'em in. Then if you ever have to remove them you can just use some vice grips.

got them . Thanks guys . If anyone is interested they are 1/4' x 1/2" . :)
 
I make my own in a lathe for each location. They are turned thinner where they go intot he block and thicker as needed to remove excess slop. The stock ones are too sloppy imo. The head can be moved around to much while sitting on the stock ones.

good idea I just wish I had a lathe . your right they are a little "sloppy" . Maybe a good idea to set the manifold in place slightly torqued before heads are torqued down . I think other board members have mentioned this procedure when installing heads . :)
