Block warpage

I did a search and couldn't find any info.

Since I have my heads off the motor, I'd like to check the deck surface for warpage. What is the allowable tolerance? I plan on running an RJC head gasket and was told .03 was about the max.

I bought a straight edge and was just going to use a feeler gauge to check for gaps. Is this the correct procedure?

For a production application, that would be fine.
For a critical high performance application such as a turbocharged 8 bolt headed Buick that's being pushed, I would be much more critical. I would shoot for a tolerance under 1/2 that.
