when i let off the gas i hear the fluttering sound

will a blow off valve solve this problem and is it even a problem and does it do damage from the surge

will i need a manual boost controller with one?

Search....BOV, blow off, surge, etc. There are a thousand.....er a thousand and one threads dedicated to this very thing.

It seems its a matter of preference.

I had a 150K mile stocker, no BOV, no issues.
Some say that they have lost expensive turbos because of no BOV

These cars are automatics, no need to relieve the pressure between shifts. The big concern is backing out of the throttle after a full boost run. Then they squeal.

I think it sounds cool (stock form). I ease out of the throttle, keep clean oil, and a generally good tune.

As far as your question goes, I say no.....that's just because of my experience with these cars.

An 800 HP manual Supra....whole other story.

I run one to eliminate that exact problem. Manual boost controller is not needed. Some folks like that flutter sound some folks don't.......I hate it.

The flutter isn't so much for me as it is for the numbnuts with his window down next to me. After a brief throttle punch, I minds well be wearing my naked suit, because that's what the expression on their face leads me to believe.

ok got the popcorn here...got the popcorn .. who wants the popcorn :p

Grump....

I thought about letting it go, but the dude's been on here trying to figure out whats wrong with his car forever.

Usually I just do a screen shot of the search feature.

Does whiskey go with popcorn? It does today.

Why do you feel the need to explain yourself when trying to help another human being? Why would anyone make fun of someone for doing this?

Many are there 110% there to help those that help themselves and/or those that generally follow advice provided...

Personally, I don't mind horse farts (that don't stink) and am not concerned about any resultant engine damage...

read post 4 again .. this has been beaten to death over and over:eek: I didn't think anyone made fun of anyone

In reply to Ttype6 post.....

I don't feel like I was made fun of. I am usually one of the ones that flies of the hinges when I see a thread on blow-hard valves. But when it is a legitimate question about their intended use and not "I want this thing to sound like the F&F car" I may feel the need to add my $.02
