Well I did a little searching on this subject and found that people are having a tough time with bolts spinning loose or breaking. Is it worth it to heat them up good with the torch before even trying to loosen them with the impact?

I only had 1 with a problem, the pass side right behind the rear tire bolt broke off. Heat will most likely work but you may catch the bushing on fire. Boy that will stink. My car came from NH and has 83K on it.

Body mounts.

Are you guys using an air wrench? The T-type i've been working on had over a 145k in miles and I spun all of the bolts out with my impact wrench no issues.

Interestingly enough I did have an issue with the mount near the rear bumper going back on. The frame seemed to change positions, outward maybe 1/2 inch.

I had to have a friend push on the rear of the frame rail, bumper off, so I could get that bolt back in. I used the new Kirban bolts. They could have made them better by tapering the end like the originals were.
Yes, I used air. No prob getting the bolts out, just the one that broke.

hehe, been there done that. Swapping the control arms on the old car, the bolts were rusted to the sleeves inside, so I had to burn out the bushings to I could cut the sleeve/bolts out. Smelled like I did a burnout in the garage for about a half hour. :D

obsessions can be bad for your health, looks like a lot of us put ourselves through some serious mess for the love of these cars.

I must be a nut, I have yet to really put this car on the road and I have a # of skint nuckles and the like. She better run like the devil.

thats why with my 84 i used a 1/2 breaker bar and had a few giving problems. but working the bolts and alot of pb blaster freed them up so i had no problems.
