Hey everyone,

We were out tuning the car today and finally got it running like a champ. We turned the boost up to about 18#, and it had safe o2's and no knock. In the middle of the run, the up-pipe blew off, so we pulled over and tightened it back up. For some strange reason, after that we could not build any boost past 11/12#! Even if I am not WOT and ease it up, it feels as if the boost just blows off (as if I had let of the gas). Does anyone have any ideas? I tried doing a search but I cannot find anything like this. We think it might be attributed to the bleeder valve (that doesnt seem to serve any purpose/could be broken) which is hooked up to the wastegate actuator and compressor. Also, after that run, it threw a code 45 (I have a basically brand new GNX o2 sensor). But after resetting the computer, the code is gone and has not come back. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much in advance!

You might want to try hooking it up tuner style and see if the problem goes away.
Check all your hose connections too.

I agree, make sure none of them have split along with been tight. The intercooler hoses might have a hole in one of them.Check all your vacume lines also.

thanks

Thanks, I will check it as soon as the sun rises (its 3:45 am). :o

How do I go about hooking it up 'tuner style'? Thanks.

Juts run a hose form the boost port on the compressor housing [90 degree "spigot" at the turbo outlet]to the actuator hose fitting.
That's a straight a hookup as you can get.
Watch your boost when you do.

Hey all,

I tried hooking it up tuner style, and it still has the same effect. Could this mean the wastegate actuator went bad? Thanks!

Maybe. If you've got another one to try, that might be good idea.
How does the tension of the actuator feel of you remove it and put it in again?
How much do you have to stretch the actuator to put it back on?
Is it adjustable?
You're also absolutely sure you've got no signifigant exhaust leaks?
The bolts that retain the W/G actuator to the compressor housing are still tight, correct?
