I was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me. I have a TE-44 turbo that I will be installing soon. If I use an external boost controller like the RJC unit do I still need to port the turbo for the wastegate?

IMHO .....I wouldn't mess with the wastegate hole unless you have alot of boost creep. Many of man had good intentions when they ported their wastegate hole.... only to have the puck not seal properly... and then it wouldn't spoolup near as fast......

One more thing to ponder..... every downpipe from different vendors locate the puck in slightly different locations..... another words..... if you port your hole to match your downpipe.... if you ever change brands of downpipes.... your wastegate hole may no longer line up with the puck.
