Ok, first off I tried to search a couple times but it keeps saying "site not responding yada yada yada" So my question is, I have a manual boost controller (the kind you keep in the car with you) and also have an adjustable wastegate rod. From my understanding using the knob is better then the rod since the rod will start to open the puck before the desired boost level is reached meaning you will probably spool a little slower on the top end. So, I have the controller hooked up now where should I set the rod to? Should I make it really loose? Thanks!

instructions?

If you know who made the controller, and can contact them: you could do it to their specs. With the RJC(what I've got), you adjust the rod 'til you have to pull it about 1/8th inch to get it on the wastegate lever. That insures the puck will stay shut 'til the actuator opens it. It could't hurt to try that with your setup, as long as you kept a REAL close eye on your boost, and got off the throttle quick if it went high.

I believe that MSD has come out with an electronic boost controller. Anyone tried it?

Ok, have a problemo. I get WAY overboost even with the controller all the way loose and the rod 1/8" stretch. Where should I have it put into the vac line? Maybe I have it in the wrong spot. I have it in between the restrictor "y" and the actuator. I also don't know the brand of it as it came with the car.

I got a Turbonetics controller(plastic pressure regulator, with long rubber hoses on it) with my car(on the rear floorboard). I tried installing it in a variety of ways, and though the boost was immediate, I got dangerous overboost no matter how I tried to install/adjust it. I called them about the installation procedure, and I know they know what they're doing. Maybe it was just defective? Anyway- I was addicted to the instant spool, so I bought the RJC piece. Works great, and no more overboost or creep(I enlarged/ported the exhaust housing also, to match the puck on my downpipe).

I believe it was in the right place, but: did you have the flow in the right direction? There's an arrow on the regulator that should point toward the actuator connection. That's how it SHOULD work anyway!

Yeah, I had the arrow pointing towards the actuator. I guess it's just bad. I'll order one of those RJC ones since I like the quicker boost. Thanks!

Sounds like we both had them hooked up the same way. I tried mine without the stock stuff also(direct from the compressor to the actuator). Who knows: maybe we both still screwed it up somehow. Anyway- we DO know the RJC piece works really well, and it doesn't bleed any boost off at all. I used an air tank with 17psi in it, pressed the air chuck against the inlet of the controller, and unscrewed it until it just barely vented. I threw it on the car, and got exactly 17psi first time out. Piece of cake!
