I am getting ready to install the RJC boost controller and don't know where to mount it. I would like to mount it in the cabin of the car but I am worried it would cause some lag with the long tubing.

I want to be able to back to boost down if the Alky gets low.

Go for it, might slow down your wastegate reaction time, but not cause turbo lag. I have a Turbonetics dial a boost controller in the car, no problems.

if your alky gets low refill it or stay out of the throttle until you do refill it
or disconnect the wastegate rod

if keeping an alky jug filled is too difficult you're going to be in for a surprise when you need to change the headgaskets

I plan on keeping the Alky full but I will also be on long trips like the power tour and if something were to happen (blow a Alky hose or have a failure with the system) then I would want a back up plan. I spent 9 years in the navy and that makes me always look for back up plans. I dont think anyone plans on running out of Alky but I am sure it happens.

i believe in backup plans myself...if something goes wrong with the alky while your into it there wont be enough time to lower the boost

imo closed loop correction is as close as you can get for that

Even if you had the rjc boost controller in the cab you would have to pull one of the vacuum lines off and loosen the nut before you could make a boost adjustment, not something you could do on the fly.

I drove from Houston to Bowling Green and back and only used 2.5 gals methanol. Had my old TT 93 street chip in the glove box just in case of a problem with the alky system. Topped the alky off once a day during the trip and used much less than anticipated. I was also easy on the car out on the road because I was so far from home.
