I have to shorten the threaded brass rod on the back of my VDO boost gauge to clear my gauge pod and I realized that it's cut down in the middle of that rod for a wrench to grab. But now it won't seal because of that. I'm wondering if anyone here runs something else like an Autometer, Stewart Warner, or AEM gauge that doesn't have wrench flats on their boost nub thingy.

I have another question that may help my situation. The little brass fitting with a hose barb that screws onto that threaded brass rod seems to be npt threads, which only allows it to thread on about 3 threads. Does anyone know of a source for a brass fitting that is NOT an npt type thread? That way I could thread the entire thing on, and it would cover the whole rod entirely. That would solve everything.
