Tried standard & heavy duty actuators. Heavy duty, I couldn't give more than 3/4 throttle an boost shooting over 25lbs. So than I put standard actuator, boost went to 17lbs and slowly started creeping past 25lbs, the longer I kept my foot in it. FYI Hole is ported an waste gate rod is extended all the way out 1/2 turn from just slipping on WG rod. Tuner style, no RJC valve and puck has 1/8th inch all the way around to sit on.

Ok guys tell me what you think because I spoke with Brian at G-body today an he suggested that my boost problems I been having with my new 6262 is related to me running tuner style and that I'd be better off going back through waste gate solenoid. If I was to do that, can I still use RJC boost control? If so, do you know how I would install it, as to which vacuum line in the "Y" hoses to put it in? Also would this affect my TT chip? And you have any Pros and Cons to doing this?

I'm just tring to get control of my boost without going external.
 
And I can't get my boost to 25 psi - maybe I need your HD wastegate!

Have you tried just disconnecting the wastegate? If it is open all the time and your boost still goes too high - might need a bigger puck and more porting.:confused:

Turbos off, ready for some help

Ok guys when I got home from work this morning I pulled my turbo off, just so you guys with all the hole porting/boost creeping wisdom could give me some guidance. Look and tell me what you think, hopefully with your wisdom and my Drimal, I can work this boost issue out. If you guys need some more pics or measurements let me know.

It's extremely difficult to tell from the photos. You need to try and get better quality photo that are in focus and better lighting.

When I did mine, I used my trusty dremel, and sanding drums and just make sure that you don't go too big. But try to ensure the hole diameter is the same at depth also.

This is telling us that the wastegate actuator is doing its job. It is opening and trying to hold your boost @ 17psi. However, the wastegate hole is not sufficient and the boost continues to creep to 25+psi.

IMO, you need to lay back the radius around the hole allowing the air to enter the wastegate more effectively. You may need a carbide to do that.

Running it "tuner" style should be the most effective way to run the minimum boost allowed by the actuator, BTW. I would run a single piece of hose from the compressor cover to the actuator with nothing else in-between. Port the radius of the wastegate hole until you can control the minimum boost pressure you desire. Then hook up the RJC valve, or the oem solenoid, or whatever you choose to run for a boost controller, and tune from there.

Looks good. Should be an improvement. Fwiw tuner style is the setup that will achieve the least amount of boost since none of it is bled off and the pressure at the sending port is the highest you will get since its right in the compressor housing. Looks like your dp needs a little grinding around the top of the flange since the carbon track is not extending past the outlet of the turbo. The flange is blocking a little flow.
 
It definitely looks better. I agree with Bison on the downpipe flange shrouding the exhaust wheel outlet. While it's off work the downpipe flange using the carbon tracking as a template.

My boost problem that I have been struggling with for almost 3 months is now fixed, thanks to you guys. Got in my car and boost would not get over 17 lbs. So I come back home and installed RJC valve, tighten up just to about where I thought it should go and hit 24 lbs of rock solid boost.

Again thank you, now let the tuning began
