Boost Question????

i'm about to get a alky kit and was wondering what's a safe boost to run on 93 octance and alky with my setup.

Guess the answer would be the same as it would be if you had good gas.

There is no way to determine a motors health and what is safe from miles away on a keyboard. Anytime you increase boost levels there is a consequence. Assumming a healthy engine in proper tune and condition, I would say an easy 25-27 PSI.

But if the rods are ready to let go.. at 10 PSI it can spit a rod out. Alky or not.

Typically 20-22 PSI is what most raise their boost to.. but does that make it safe.. no.

Well I'm Running About 20 Right Now On My 93 Chip So I Should Be Good To Run Around 25 On Alky Right. my race chip is set up for 30-35psi

I know of a Buick running 35+ PSI on pump gas and alcohol. Safe at that level.. not really.

25 shouldnt be an issue with a good tune. Its hard to keep the greed in check with methanol. Way to easy to crank on the boost control.
