boost spikes ????

Just put on my new turbo (ta33) and thought it would solve the problem but it didnt . The boosts will spike up to like 18 psi for a second or two and then drop down to whatever i have it set at seems like the wastgate is very slow to react . The wastgate has also been changed.

I remember hearing of some valve or sensor that will do this but cant remember .What is making the cars boosts spike up like this?

any help will be appreiciated thanks.

Do you have a scan tool? You could be getting knock and your computer is adjusting your boost for you when it senses detonation.

The boost is jumping over what it is set at not jumping under. and i dont have a scan tool but I do not beleive that i am getting any knock I set the boost at 11psi,it would jump up to 18-19 psi and thenm settle down to the 11?

what is wrong,and does anyone know what the sensor is called that is behind the engine block it connects to the wastgate .I brock it trying to see if there was any leaks in the lines to the wastgate.
