Whats up guys.
Noticed I was not getting as much boost as I was and could not remember if I turned it down. So I cranked the gate tighter and still am not getting the boost I was at the same setting.. around 22 PSI.
So I stomped the snot out of it and wound out drive pretty good and noticed that my boost gauge was leveling off at 18 psi and the needle was flucuating a few psi during. Never had this happen and usaully get some creep through th egears but the sucker will not go over 20????
I checked the hoses and all were fine and solid connections the y connector is untouched and less than aa year old. No mods have been dine to any part other than turning th eboost down a turn 5 months ago and then turning it back up yesterday.
Think it is the boost solenoid???
I can't see were the wastegate puck seal would cause th eneedle to bounce since it worked fine before.
Thanx in advance for any ideas

I have the same problem sometimes, I just thought it was too much boost and not enough octane.

Would like to see what someone else has to say about it.

I pulled the DP and the puck looked good ..no carbon or deposits.
The coil pack towers had corrosion so I replaced it and it is smoother now but still the same. 2-3 turns f the rod in or out and the boost will not go over 17???
It used to hit 22 psi and I still had some adjustment left.
Wonder if th eboost gauge is bad.
It did seem to pull a little harder when I shortened the rod even though th egauge skowed nil up.

The sun was going down to when I made the last adjust and the temp was dropping quic so that could be the little power bump.

Maybe it is the boost solenoid..

boost

disconnect hoses and run one hose from wastegate to compressor housing.
start at about 18lbs and work your way up on the boost.
try this method and see if it helps.
just my 2cents.

YeahI am going to try tuner style next.
I am thinking maybe the fact that the loww boost acuator was pulled tight for so long that the spring is gone.
Ported wastegate hole and the low boost actuator....I had to have it pretty tight and maybe the spring is tired now..though it has not been that long

The only thing bad about porting the housing and hole is that when you need high boost you won't be able to get as much with the low boost act.
