Borla XR1 Mufflers

Has anyone ever tried a Borla XR1 race muffler on a single exhaust setup on a GN? My brother just gave me a set off his race car, i was gonna run about a foot long piece of 3" tubing to the muffler and have it dump right to the ground.

I have the 2.5" stainless XR-1s and I like them a lot. They sound nice and aren't that loud.
